Emergency First Response - EFR

Saving lives is a rewarding experience

Being able to provide basic life support or first aid to someone in need is a life-changing skill.

The PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course is a vital and comprehensive training program designed to teach you critical care for life-threatening emergencies as well as first aid for minor injuries and illnesses. Suited for both divers and non-divers, this course prepares you to properly handle potentially life-saving situations with confidence. It emphasizes practical techniques and hands-on practice, making you a more competent first responder in emergencies.

During the course you will learn:

Primary Care (CPR): Teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course focuses on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development, and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide care when emergency situations arise.

Secondary Care (First Aid): Covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening. Participants focus on secondary assessment and first aid through knowledge development, skill development, and scenarios.

The EFR course is about more than just meeting the prerequisites for other PADI courses; it's about building a foundation of first aid and emergency response skills that can make a real difference in situations where every second counts. It's an empowering experience that prepares you to help others in need, both in and out of the water.

Skill Develpment Exercises

During the skill development part of the Emergency First Response program, Participants learn the basic steps and subskills, then practice the skills under peer and instructor guidance. Repeated practice under controlled conditions allows participants to fine-tune performance, gain competence and build confidence for retention.

Scenario Practice

Simulated Emergency scenario practice allows participants to apply the skills they develop to realistic situations. Each scenario requires participants to use skills learned from the previous part - Skills Development Exercises. The circumstances vary which lets participants use all their skills to work through different challenges. Practice begins with simple situations and progresses to multiple injury accidents.!
